 crash on x86_64

 by konradu on: May 1 2006

Hello, first ... it does not compile without modification. On FC4 x86_64 it does not find KDELIBS which are in /usr/lib64... . Second ... on startup my drives are recognized and then ...
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
[Switching to Thread 46912497496576 (LWP 32264)]
0x000000000041aa47 in k9Main::ckMenuClick (this=0x6ce130) at k9main.cpp:1003
1003 frPlayback->setEnabled((!ckMenu->isChecked()) && dvd->getopened());

All version ( my first try was 1.0.3b ) crashed here with exception of 1.0.4-beta2 where the interface comes up and is running fine. I am running an AMD 3800+ X2 prozessor, my KDE is 3.5.2 compiled from source also some other stuff. Another question, can you change the libk3bdevice with the new one from k3b 0.12.15 ? With new kernels and my scsi devices it clicks and clicks in my drives for 20 sec. and then my scsi dvd has name as 000ddddnnn000222 :)) I changed the libk3bdevice in 1.0.4-beta2, does an make Makefile.cvs, configure , make, make install. Runs fine :-)

Best regards
Uwe Konrad

Hmmm, ./configure --enable-libsuffix=64 does the trick and it runs fine. Also replaced libk3bdevice from newest k3b to fix the scsi drive detection.

We've just added this to Ark Linux -- Ark Linux users simply apt-get install k9copy, others who may be in need of rpms can try their luck with
http://arklinux.osuosl.org/dockyard-devel/SRPMS/k9copy-1.0.4.2-1ark.src.rpm

 volume ID too long?

 by mobtek on: Jul 6 2006

I'm getting this error when backing up a dvd.
> mkisofs volume is too long error
Isn't mkisofs able to handle volume ID's longer than 31 chars? This is only 32 chars :)
Is there a config option in K9copy to allow long volume id's?

cheers Peter vdM

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
 Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
 I do not like some of the changes.
 KDE is taking the wrong way.
 I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
 I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
