 Fedora-4 build probs

 by rickw27 on: Nov 8 2005

Score 50%

Building under Fedora-4, I get the following error:

if g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -I../libk3bdevice -I/usr/include/kde -I/usr/lib/qt-3.3/include -I/usr/X11R6/include -DQT_THREAD_SUPPORT -D_REENTRANT -O2 -g3 -Wnon-virtual-dtor -Wno-long-long -Wundef -Wall -W -Wpointer-arith -Wwrite-strings -ansi -D_XOPEN_SOURCE=500 -D_BSD_SOURCE -Wcast-align -Wconversion -Wchar-subscripts -DNDEBUG -DNO_DEBUG -O2 -Wformat-security -Wmissing-format-attribute -fno-exceptions -fno-check-new -fno-common -MT kdvdauthor.o -MD -MP -MF ".deps/kdvdauthor.Tpo" -c -o kdvdauthor.o kdvdauthor.cpp; \
then mv -f ".deps/kdvdauthor.Tpo" ".deps/kdvdauthor.Po"; else rm -f ".deps/kdvdauthor.Tpo"; exit 1; fi
In file included from /usr/include/dvdread/ifo_read.h:24,

from kdvdauthor.h:24,
from kdvdauthor.cpp:22:
/usr/include/dvdread/ifo_types.h:32:2: error: #error "Must include or before any libdvdread header."

Changing src/Makefile.am from:

AM_CXXFLAGS = -O2 -g3

to:

AM_CXXFLAGS = -O2 -g3 -D__STDC_LIMIT_MACROS

then running automake, etc, now I get the following:

if g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -I../libk3bdevice -I/usr/include/kde -I/usr/lib/qt-3.3/include -I/usr/X11R6/include
-DQT_THREAD_SUPPORT -D_REENTRANT -O2 -g3 -D__STDC_LIMIT_MACROS -Wnon-virtual-dtor -Wno-long-long -Wundef -Wall -W -Wpointer-arith -Wwrite-strings -ansi -D_XOPEN_SOURCE=500 -D_BSD_SOURCE -Wcast-align -Wconversion -Wchar-subscripts -DNDEBUG -DNO_DEBUG -O2 -Wformat-security -Wmissing-format-attribute -fno-exceptions -fno-check-new -fno-common -MT kbackupdlg.o -MD -MP -MF ".deps/kbackupdlg.Tpo" -c -o kbackupdlg.o kbackupdlg.cpp; \
then mv -f ".deps/kbackupdlg.Tpo" ".deps/kbackupdlg.Po"; else rm -f ".deps/kbackupdlg.Tpo"; exit 1; fi
kbackupdlg.cpp:84:26: error: kbackupdlg.moc: No such file or directory

Is not the .moc file a file generated by the make process? Any ideas?

What version of dvdread-devel do you have installed on your system? I did some test and finally succeeded in compiling it under Fedora Core 4. Do you use the libraries from freshrpms?

I'm using libdvdread-0.9.4-8cvs.2.fc4.i386.rpm and libdvdread-devel-0.9.4-8cvs.2.fc4.i386.rpm from Fresh RPMS (Build Host: python2.freshrpms.net).

What version do you use?

Thanks.

You have to remove libraries installed from freshrpms, the version that gave me problems was libdvdread-0.9.4-8cvs.2. Use instead the version from livna: libdvdread-0.9.4-0.lvn.1.4.i386.rpm gave me the opportunity to easily compile without errors and finally use the great k9copy. The repository and the istructions are here http://rpm.livna.org/

libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.9 for DVD access
libdvdnav: DVD Title: my_dvd

 Improvements

Hey, just my 2 pence worth, but:

1) Should have a button to do a full dvd disc backup.

2) When burning to ISO, enter the target ISO filename *before* reading the dvd, not after. This means you can walk away, and when you return, it's copied and in an ISO , not that you are prompted to enter it, then it generates the ISO.

3) If you click copy, and the disc has not been anaylised, automatically analise it.

With this, I think the UI will be easier.

Anyway, hope you like the ideas.

Kind regards.

Sorry for the long post but k9copy is a good app. I don't want to think its moving beyond Debian stable.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
 Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
 I do not like some of the changes.
 KDE is taking the wrong way.
 I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
 I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
