Description:

Update: first bugfix release for 4.3 is out

New stable release for ktorrent and libktorrent.

The biggest changes since the 4.2 release include:
- Reintroduction of a tabbed torrent list widget, though a bit different then the old tab widget from the 4.1 days.
- Improved support for magnet links
- Support for removable storage
- A whole bunch of bugfixes and smaller improvements over ktorrent 4.2

For a full overview of all changes, take a look in the ChangeLog files included with the source code.

If you have problems or feature requests you can go to bugs.kde.org, or just ask around on our forums http://ktorrent.org/forum

 Feature requests

 by thebestbear86 on: Nov 11 2006

After some use, there are a couple of things that annoy me.

1. Adding multiple torrents. You have to add them one at a time.

2. Browsing for torrent/place to save the file. These are not separate, that is, you open a torrent and when you select a place to save, it "remembers" the torrent folder. So with several files you need to switch folders back and forth. I have a separate folder where I save all my torrents, it would be nice if "open torrent" would default to that folder.

3. Queue system. I've found no way, except disabling queue control, to shift download priority. If I for example add a couple of files and then decide I want to download that last file firt, there is no way (that I've found) to do that unless I disable the whole queue.

As I stated in my previous post, this is a great program though. These are just some thoughts.

1. You're right about that. We can consider making an interface to allow multiple torrents to be added.
Until then, you can use ScanFolder plugin. Just bump all of your torrents in some dir. this plugin is monitoring and KT will load all of them.

2. Check out KTorrent settings, there's an option to set default saving directory.

3. There's an easy way of changing priorities with Queue Manager. Click on QM icon in toolbar or choose 'Open queue manager' from Downloads menu.

After using Azureus which has a quite slow GUI and doesn't fit well into my KDE desktop, I switched to KTorrent and am very satisfied. So thank you very much for this great program!

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
