Description:

Update: first bugfix release for 4.3 is out

New stable release for ktorrent and libktorrent.

The biggest changes since the 4.2 release include:
- Reintroduction of a tabbed torrent list widget, though a bit different then the old tab widget from the 4.1 days.
- Improved support for magnet links
- Support for removable storage
- A whole bunch of bugfixes and smaller improvements over ktorrent 4.2

For a full overview of all changes, take a look in the ChangeLog files included with the source code.

If you have problems or feature requests you can go to bugs.kde.org, or just ask around on our forums http://ktorrent.org/forum

 VHT?

KTorrent is getting better with each release - thank you for a great app!

Is there a reason why the .rpm-packages for openSUSE 10.2 do not provide the VHT-feature? When compiling Ktorrent myself, VHT is included, in the versions I get from KDE-backports and guru, VHT is an option in the settings-dialogue, but it's alway marked as 'off'.

It would be nice to see a manual included as well, since it is offered in the 'Help'-menu.

I recommend to update the screenshots here on kde-apps, since the GUI has changed a lot meanwhile and offers many new features.

Novell don't want to ship true p2p. Hence official versions, and versions on the build-service are built without VHT - or DHT as non-Germans call it ;-)

The guru version is built with it. He only duplicates the effort on the buildservice because that package is crippled.

But you have to be attentive to not accidentally update to build service packages.

 Ignores Selection

by bitcrazy on: Jul 5 2007

Score 50%

Hi,
as I've tested, ktorrent 2.2 ignores my selection of files to download. Even with just one file selected, ktorrent tries to get the whole torrent.
With statusline enabled, the main window is larger than the screensize of my laptop. If the line is too long, the window gets too wide on the right side. I think, it's because of the message saying something like 'No incoming connections, probably firewalled' even if there are connections established.(They are shown up in the line, too)

Greetings
m0nk

I just upgraded from 2.1 and now I'm missing the info center that used to be on the lower half of the screen. Is there a way to get this back?

 Ignores Selection

Hi,
I too can confirm that files selection is not working(Ubuntu).I tried with several torrent files and result is always the same:ktorrent 2.2 ignores it and starts to download all files in list.Too bad. It's using only 1% of my CPU(2.14 used 1-10),and I like upload/download tabs.

Strange, for me selecting single files works with no prob... but I experienced the same window-behaviour, which really was a pain. bitcrazys idea seems to be right, since the window can be set to normal size when all torrents are stopped and the 'Firewall-message' disappears.

BUT: this seems to be solved with the last release 2.2, so give it another try after upgrading.

Yet again there is no VHT-support for this version when taken from the SuSE-Guru-repo... Raoul, these are your builds, aren't they? Why is VHT always disabled?

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
