Description:

I discoverd kuake at kde-apps (http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=11330) and It thought: "This is what I need" But it had a few bug's and there was no update since 1.5 years now. So i tried to fix it and here is the result. I hope you will like it. :)

I don't know if anyone is still interrested on this one since the release other versions of kauke. If some people are still interrestet in this one I will continue my work on this. I have also set up a SVN, if you want to make improvments on this kuake then write me an e-mail and I will give you am account for the SVN :)

Changelog:

Changes since version 0.3:
Moved some code around in kuake.cpp
Size should be calculated correctly now
Kuake stays now above kicker

Changes since version 0.3.1:
Added tab support
major code clean up
still little buggy :)

Changes since version 0.4Beta
Fixed Bugs :)
Added context Menus for tabs
More options in the main context menu (Thanks to Saïd LANKRI)
ToggleButton now stays in position

Changes since version 0.4Beta2
Fixed a Bug that crashed Kuake when you added and removed tabs.

Changes since version 0.4Beta3
You can now select that position of the tabbar

i've used kuake for nearly as long as its been out but -- i stopped using it for a few reasons about 3 months back and one of which was the tabbed view. i hope you get tab support soon so i can start using this baby again! thank you so much for taking the initative to get it back up and running ^_^ good luck and excellent work!

Yep! Lots of thanks from me too! I have used kuake for some time in the past, but quit using it because of bugs.. And now that I come to think of it, I wonder why I didn't miss tabbing at the time, I'd miss it today! Ah, times change I guess.. :) It's a tabbing world these days..

 doesn't work

It just flickers when I use a shortcut to open it. When I reposition kuake by changing the alignment, it works once (ie. it pops up, stays there and closes when I use the shortcut again) and then starts flickering again when pressing the same shortcut.

Too bad, I'd really like it to be on top of a kicker panel..

I know this problem. That problem is connected to your kwin settings. You can set this in kcontrol. The probelem is I have only the german version of KDE so I can't tell you exactly were to go :( Sorry

Hi,

i've just fixed the flicker problem and uploaded a new version of kuake (0.3.2) and added support for the "focus follow mouse" wm policy.
Check it here

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
