Just thought I'd say thanks for creating this app. I use amaroK alot and soundKonverter compliments it very nicely, esp. the replay gain tool and service menu.

In future will soundKonverter be able to copy over tag information? This is a minor annoyance as a mate keeps giving me m4a files, which I convert to mp3 and musicbrainz doesnt recognise them.

Thanks

hi, thank you for your thanks ;)

Yes, I'll work on handling tags from other formats than mp3, ogg, flac and mpc. This are the formats supported by taglib. I hope that the amount of supported formats will grow. If not or not soon enough, I'll have a look at amarok (1.4 svn).
But in 0.2 this won't be able, sorry but I actually have some big, unexpected problems. :(

I don't think the following is even complete, but adds on what you've got in yours...

RDEPEND="

flac? ( >=media-libs/flac-1.1.1 )

musepack? ( >=media-sound/musepack-tools-1.15u )
faac? ( >=media-libs/faac-1.24)
mplayer? ( >=media-video/mplayer-1.0_pre7-r1)
wavpack? ( >=media-sound/wavpack-4.1)

Please have a look at

and consider merging the two projects

I have sent a mail to the author, but I don't think that it makes much sense, since StealthSound is written in Gambas and soundKonverter is C++.

IMHO the merging process can be done in steps:
1. Decide on a language
If you decide on C++:
2. Add all the StealthSound functionality missing in soundKonverter.
3. Abandon StealthSound.
If you decide on BASIC:
2. Add all the soundKonverter functionality missing in StealthSound.
3. Abandon soundKonverter.

Therefore the difference in languages should be no problem, IMHO.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
 Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
 I do not like some of the changes.
 KDE is taking the wrong way.
 I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
 I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
