3.0.1:
Yakuake v3.0.1 is a minor bugfix release addressing installation and integration of the hicolor application icon.

Changelog:

Changes in 3.0.2:
* Added back a description file implementing the freedesktop.org AppData specification.

Changes in 3.0.1:
* Fixed installation and integratin of hicolor application icon.

Changes in 3.0:
* Yakuake was ported to KDE Frameworks 5 and Qt 5.
* A new default skin follows the Plasma 5 Breeze design.
* Terminal focus is now preserved more reliably when closing and reopening Yakuake.
* Config changes made via the title bar menu are now synced to disk immediately, and thus preserved if Yakuake is killed instead of quit gracefully.
* The option to auto-update tab titles with the title bar contents no longer interferes with manually setting a tab title. To return to auto-updating just clear the title.
* Performance improvements in the compositor-unassisted animation code path.
* Fixed bug causing incorrect window height calculation in multi-monitor systems.

 Kudos!

I have to say kudos for such a great app. The command line wouldn't be the same if it wasn't for yakuake. Truly great stuff.

 hidden start

yakuake is really the best console by far for me! thank you very much that you share your excellent program with us!

I had only one small improvement: yakuake would be even greater if it would start completely quiet and hidden in the background.

I start yakuake with the system. but every time I log on, I first have to click yakuake to hide. This is a litte annoyance that could be taken away if yakuake would already start hidden.

There is already an option in Configure Yakuake -> Behavior -> Open window after program start. Make shure that's unchecked.

Aside from what Jucato mentions, it's also possible that you've somehow set up things in a way that causes Yakuake to be run twice at startup, e.g. once due to session management (restarting apps that were running at logout) and once due to autostart. Yakuake's window opens when it is run again while it is already running.

Beyond those two scenarios, Yakuake actually does start hidden by default (i.e. the option Jucato mentions is disabled by default).

 Installing

Hi guys. I'm having problem installing yakuake. I follow these steps:

tar -xjf yakuake-2.9.6.tar.bz2
cd yakuake-2.9.6/
mkdir build
cd build/
cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=</usr/bin> ../
make
sudo make install

but when I execute the cmake command I get this message - "bash: ../: Is a directory
". I'm not much familiar with the syntax of the commands, but I suppose it's something stupid. :((

The problem would be the '<' and '>' around '/usr/bin'. Also, chances are you actually want to use '/usr' there (the executable will be put into '<prefix>/bin' anyway).

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
