Description:

KopyShop is a simple KDE application to copy a sheet of paper. It uses a scanner and a printer to do that. The main advantage of KopyShop is that your copy is nearly the same size as the original. One Idea was that this task should easy for the end user. Techniclly it uses the SANE and KPrinter to communicate with the devices. Additionaly it has the feature to save or load image files. The input and output resolutions are adjustable, as well as the input and output device (last is done bei the KDE printer dialog)

Requirements
=========
-Running KDE 3 (tested on gentoo, kde3.5).
-sane-backends installed.
-A configured and working SANE device and a output device supported by KPrinter.
-installed libkscan / kdegraphics

For installing source: all things you need to compile a KDE application and SANE header files.

Known bugs/limitations
=================
Warning! Don't start KopyShop when your scanning device is not ready, program will possibly wait endlessly.

-Physical size of scanner must be nearly the same as the printer (usualy A4).
-Some error/status messages are missing...
-German translation didn't work.

TODO
====
- flexible zooming
- some bug fixing for the GUI

additional licens information: the headers from libkscan are included because they are missed. Many thx to Klaas Freitag for helping with the libkscan thing.

Changelog:

0.1.10 Bugfix release
-fix compile error in ksprefswidgetbase.ui

that is exactly what I was searching when I came to kde-apps and you just submitted KopyShop.

but my copy went wrong, it only scanned and printed a small part of a DIN A4 page. and there is no way to select the area to scan.

kooka works fine and scans the whole page.

on linux it isn't very easy to get correct device metrics (the QT doc mentioned it somwhere). Somtimes it is execat and sometimes it is guesed by the used libaries. I wouldn't go in detail yet.
BTW did yiou set input and output resolution zo the same? possibly try another value. The depends on your devices and for now kopyshop doesn't recognize the real DPI capabilities of your devices

Well done. This is a wonderfully convenient app for office use. It should be part of Koffice.
Thank you very much.

I got it to work on Debian 3.1 (Sarge) and KDE 3.3.2.

A way to crop the image before printing etc, would make this app perfect.

Seek perfection...

:)

I need to scan some printed invoices and send them via mail. I press scan and after the print dialog pops up I choose as printing device: "send pdf as mail". Its great :-) I can send a sheet of paper as pdf to somebody via mail with usualy 3 clicks. Thx to KDE to give such a great framework!

greetz, sarah

i am still waiting for the number one app:
KoffeeShop
it would require a star trek-like replicator as output device, but oh well...

# cd /usa/whitehouse
# rm -rf *

Chocolate, we need a chocolate dispenser! ChocolateShop must be next on the list.

After all chocolate is proof of God (and cheesecake is proof God loves us. Chocolate cheesecake is proof God can be a bit naughty).

And, for those of you who don't know it, 42 is the universal, neh, multiversal # for chocolate!

Hehehe!

yeah i'm working on 0.1.1

settings are now restorable and
some bugs related to the size of scaned and printed image are fixed.
I have an app icon.

But @ the moment kdevelop doesn't configure my app any more :-(
configure: error: source directory already configured; run "make distclean"
I've done it, but always the same effect :'(

ideas?

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
