 Capturing problem

by nicP on: Apr 2 2007
Score 50%

I have managed to install Kdenlive on Kubuntu, but cant capture from my DVcam. Clicking on the little green light in the capture window says the "renderer is not connected" and nothing happens when I try to record or control the cam.

In the clip monitor window the renderer is connected. I have installed DVgrab 2 and that captures from the terminal window with no problem.

I would love to replace my win software with Kdenlive. It looks great.

This is the best video editor for Linux. Unfortunately hard to install on Kubuntu because no up to date package and have to upgrade a lot of old packages.
Finally I installed the SVN version, the howto is written on the bottom of the wiki page (Compiling kdenlive & ffmpeg & mlt together - the easy way). For Kubuntu Feisty I had to install a new autoconf package, and the reinstallation of unsermake package was needed, too (strange).

Could someone make a deb package from kdenlive? Thanks in advance!

Yes its indeed the best but there need to be some things to be adjust but i think you will notice what.

The output is much better than Windows Movie Maker did.

This is the amv i made with Kdenlive. Its not super but its a amv

 Editing the Audio!

by SouthPaw on: Nov 13 2007
Score 50%

Hi all,

I am new to Linux (Kubuntu) and I need to video editing. I tried out the latest Kdenlive, and it seemed to go fairly well, other than the title bars and mostly the audio.

I have 2 audio tracks and I need to superimpose them, the voice-over being louder, and the natural sound being just in the background.

I am having a hard time with audio effects. Is it because I need to download missing applications to my computer?

Thanks a lot!

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
