You have to specify where
your KDE libraries resides.

This one should work for you
./configure --prefix=`kde-config --prefix`

There is 2 modes in which kanyremote can be used: At-Mode and Server mode.
In server mode (i think You used a server mode) connection is established from the phone side. And therefor there is no connect menu item in kanyremote GUI.

hi. i'm trying to connect kanyremote to my S55 via "kanyremote -s <id>", but it always says "unconnected" (this should really be called "disconnected"). if i press on the "Connect..." menu entry, nothing happens. no log output either (even if i specify --log). no idea, what's going on. could give me a hint there please?

Which <id> do You use ?
(/dev/rfcomm... ?)
Do You have appropriate permissions on that /dev/rfcomm... ?
I suggest firsty use cu or minicom
to test the connection:
cu -l /dev/rfcomm...

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
