This needs more description, and sreenshots. How does it work? How does it compare to kdissert? How does it compare to conglomerate? Is it inspired by other apps? What features does it have? What features will it have?

This should be kind of the next generation of kdissert but more focussed on KDE4. The last version of kdissert is 1.7

In the concept Semantik is the continuation of Kdissert, but from a developer point of view it is a complete rewrite.

The graphical user interface (widgets, mouse and keyboard controls) is different, and the architecture was changed (Qt4, extension system, file format).

Until a new snapshot is available, the dl string can be removed from the file wscript (reconfigure afterwards).

The symlink in /usr/lib/libdl.so to the appropriate /lib/libdl... is now there and it builds with downgraded clib6

Result segfaults. The libc6 situation on Debian Sid is untenable at present so I will not build anything right now. EVERYTHING built will segfault.

Perhaps this is not of much immediate help, but Semantik compiled OK on Kubuntu edgy with me.

By the way, there is a program "exporting" Kdissert projects to TaskJuggler. It would be nice to somehow bundle such a program with Semantik. Or are there principled objections?

Good to know.

It appears that the taskjuggler tool mentioned is a Taskjuggler plugin. As such, bundling it with Semantik would make little sense.

The other solution is to make an export script for Semantik (python). This should be easy if the Taskjuggler file spec are known.

semantik 0.3.2 crashes upon opening a document created with v. 0.2.6

is there a need to convert the document somehow?

I can send you the document if you'd like to investigate....

OK, it kinda works now (v0.4.1):

- doesn't crash any more (yay)
- opens old kdissert format files

but,

- when opening old semantik (v0.2.x) format file, a blank page is shown

You're getting there ;)

Really old files (0.2.x) are really too old. But you do not have a ton of such files around, do you ?

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
