Why do you put this app here? It seems to not be a KDE or Qt app, and we have to purchase it.

Well it is a Linux app, works with KDE very well. Kde-Apps.org allows proprietary applications to appear here, there are already others here...

There is www.gnomefiles.org, but this app is not GTK. It's using its own UI toolkit called eLiquid.

Then post it on freshmeat.net or somewhere else! I hate to see here stuff, which isn't related to KDE or Qt!

Hey don't talk that, I'm using KDE and I'm happy to see this app here. I don't look on freshmeat or other sites in search of kde apps (maybe I should but I just don't have time for it).

And i dont search KDE-apps.org page to find GTK+ and other apps for my KDE system what use Qt. If i want to see other software i go to other pages. If i like to see GTK+ i go gnomefiles.org etc.

Even the page name tells this is for KDE related software where users can search apps what fits with their KDE look and feels.

KDE it just must be...

Isn't there www.qt-apps.org for Qt apps? If application works fine with KDE it doesn't matter if it's using Qt toolkit. Nice example is Blender, they're using similar approach. Blender and Pixel are apps for GNOME, KDE, XFCE etc :)

 DOS-version of Pixel

I'm looking for a DOS-based *registered*/licensed copy of Pixel. Late-version. If you've a copy of this - for sale - a registered copy - please contact me (in this forum, I'll check it regularly). Thanks.

It's a very good software, I tried it before.

Otherwise I'm happy to hear about it on this site, and get notified about updates. Let the site administrators decide.

Don't be discouraged by the score you got. This site is infested by children and they are impossible to reason with.
The only thing I agree with is that Pixel isn't QT or KDE application.
Never the less, feel free to post here - it's fine with me.
By the way, I use Pixel32 for all my imaging needs for almost a year now and I'm very happy with it.

Rest regards,

it-s

 What page is this?

 by Fri13 on: Apr 11 2007

Score 50%

Is this anymore KDE related webpage or not? Commercial software can be here if it use Qt and KDE themes. Because those are KDE applications for KDE users.

This is good software but it dont belongs here because it is not KDE software. Or can i apply KDE themes for it? Does it use KDE open/save dialog and not terrrible GTK+ dialogs?
Does it use KDE mouse theme or X?
And so on..

Soon, we have Gnome files mixed here with KDE software because we let it happend. Yes, oneday OpenDesktopProject is so good level that user dont anymore know are they using GTK+ apps or Qt apps and then there can be this kind software too....

Just remove this and add it to somewhere else.
Even it is very good software but...

KDE it just must be...

My old DOS application works perfectly with KDE and DOSBox. I think it's time to upload it here ;-)

I agree that PIE is a cool app, but IMO it doesn't fit here..

 PSD support

by rgfree on: Apr 11 2007

Score 50%

I tried it a few months ago. Nice - but absolutely perfect PSD support even of current versions is integral for me. As a home user i wouldnt pay for such an app, because GIMP is sufficient. There is however a lot of interest in using Pixel at my company if it could open PSDs better than GIMP.

BTW: Please ignore the very childish comments about "No KDE app". I can only assume these folks are not really interested in software but only run a bot that sends a message as soon as the keyword "KDE" does not appear.

I'm very interested in everything that might be useful for me as a KDE user. I don't really care about technical details, which toolkit is used etc.
And I dont like to check hundreds of
sites to get an overview on recently released software.
And from a user perspective this app is just as good as any other. And a non-KDE image editing app is relevant to far more people than a KDE scientify/astronomical tool or whatever.

 Nice application

Hi,

This looks like a nice application. How long does the demo run? Is it a time limited or functionality limited demo? It would be nice if you wrote something like that in the description of your app.

And I agree with everybody who said that this is not a KDE application and it doesn't belong here. FreshMeat.net is THE site for your app.

Demo is not time limited, there's only one limitation and that is almost invisible watermark in images...

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
