Please test the new version (1.8.2) and report bugs!

I'm having dependency problems on Ubuntu 7.04. I've used my normal update manager, and these packages are all the most recent. Are you specifically using something that is a higher rev than what appears to be shipped with 7.04?

dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of kio-sysinfo:
kio-sysinfo depends on libart-2.0-2 (>= 2.3.18); however:
Version of libart-2.0-2 on system is 2.3.17-1.
kio-sysinfo depends on libc6 (>= 2.5-5); however:
Version of libc6 on system is 2.5-0ubuntu14.
kio-sysinfo depends on libgcc1 (>= 1:4.2-20070516); however:
Version of libgcc1 on system is 1:4.1.2-0ubuntu4.
kio-sysinfo depends on libstdc++6 (>= 4.2-20070516); however:
Version of libstdc++6 on system is 4.1.2-0ubuntu4.

I haven't got a clue why it didn't work for you, unless there is a slight difference in your distro.

As for compiling from source, you might try finding the offending option in the source code, and removing it before trying to compile it. Might work, might not.

 About Fedora 7 RPM..

 by darkphoenixff4 on: Jun 13 2007

Score 50%

I dunno the exact story behind it, but I have serious doubts that the Fedora 7 RPM contains the original source as offered, because when I tried to package the source for Fedora 7, I started getting compiler errors. Parts that sysinfo:/ rely on (like hwinfo) are not in Fedora.

Actually, that's why I started to hack on it to use HAL, as I mentioned the last time I posted here. I'll give creating the package a try again, though, just in case ;)

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
 Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
 I do not like some of the changes.
 KDE is taking the wrong way.
 I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
 I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
