Description:

A text-based subtitles editor.

Translators wanted:
If you want to help, translate the program into your language and send me the results.

Note for translators:
Please, before starting a translation make sure there isn't one for your language already (or if there is an unmaintained one).
Currently maintained translations include Brazilian Portuguese, Bulgarian, Czech, French, German, Italian, Russian, Serbian (Cyrillic and Latin), Spanish, Polish and Ukrainian. Greek and Hungarian translations are currently unmaintained.

Changelog:

Version 0.5.3:
- added Czech, Brazilian Portuguese, Bulgarian, French and German translations contributed by Petr Gadula, Marcio P. Moraes, Petar Toushkov, Thomas Gastine and Panagiotis Papadopoulos respectively
and updated Spanish translation
- added Kross powered scripting interface with some basic examples in Ruby, Python and JavaScript
- added action to translate subtitles using Google translation services
- fixed many bugs including some that would crash the application
* selecting a file from the recently opened list could crash the application when using Qt 4.5
* video playback was completely broken with Qt 4.5
* bugs related to searching text and errors
* bugs related to undo/redo that could result in a crash
- other minor fixes, user interface changes and improvements

 Help

by sleekslack on: Mar 13 2008

Hi, This maybe the most stupid question you guys ever seen but I can't get this app to work. I'm on Slackware 12 with
KDE 3.5. When I try to open a video file, it always gave me "Couldn't play the seclected file". I already browse to executable path for MPlayer and MPlayer itself can play a video file just fine, except in this app. If anyone ever faced the same problem, it would be appreciate to give me some advice for where I should checking. Thank you in advance.

It's ok now. It looks like I have to compile from version 0.2.1. It's seem like that version 0.3 didn't work for me.

it's the best subtitle editor I've used ever (this includes windows).
Please port it to KDE4 and also win32, so I can send it to my girlfriend to use on windows ;)

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
