Description:

A text-based subtitles editor.

Translators wanted:
If you want to help, translate the program into your language and send me the results.

Note for translators:
Please, before starting a translation make sure there isn't one for your language already (or if there is an unmaintained one).
Currently maintained translations include Brazilian Portuguese, Bulgarian, Czech, French, German, Italian, Russian, Serbian (Cyrillic and Latin), Spanish, Polish and Ukrainian. Greek and Hungarian translations are currently unmaintained.

Changelog:

Version 0.5.3:
- added Czech, Brazilian Portuguese, Bulgarian, French and German translations contributed by Petr Gadula, Marcio P. Moraes, Petar Toushkov, Thomas Gastine and Panagiotis Papadopoulos respectively
and updated Spanish translation
- added Kross powered scripting interface with some basic examples in Ruby, Python and JavaScript
- added action to translate subtitles using Google translation services
- fixed many bugs including some that would crash the application
* selecting a file from the recently opened list could crash the application when using Qt 4.5
* video playback was completely broken with Qt 4.5
* bugs related to searching text and errors
* bugs related to undo/redo that could result in a crash
- other minor fixes, user interface changes and improvements

sorry guys,
i have updated the package in sourceforge, but though the new file length is reported correctly, it still sends the old file when following the download link... in the meantime, try running "make -f Makefile.cvs" before "configure".

Great improvements, I've loved the translation support.
I only wish there was a windows version to my girlfriend being able to use it.
Looks like I'll have to set-up a Vnc or remote X session for her to use it.

don't worry, the kde4 port is in progress. in fact, this was supposed to be the kde4 release but at some point my kde4 installation got screwed so i continued the development in the kde3 branch and now they diverge quite a lot again...

 Conf. error solution

by vnnv on: Apr 11 2008

Score 50%

Quick workaround for configure error.
edit admin/cvs.sh.
line 70
add | automake*1.10* so the entire line to become:
automake*1.6.* | automake*1.7* | automake*1.8* | automake*1.9* | automake*1.10* )

Save, and execute
./bootstrap.sh
Next configure and all is ok.

Please apply this trivial gcc 4.3 patch in some next release: http://www.watzke.cz/files/patches/gcc-4.3-compat/subtitlecomposer-0.4.0-missing-include.patch

Btw. I've added an ebuild for 0.4.0 into my overlay.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
