 Somthing very smart

This is a very good idea, but it would be better if it had some driver troubleshooting features.

There are a lot of incompatible webcams out there, but there isn`t an easy tool to detect them and it takes a lot.

I'm not sure what you mean by driver troubleshooting, but anyway on this phase of development I don't want to deal with anything hardware specific. If anyone have some troubles with webcam please read this page:
http://wiki.kde.org/tiki-index.php?page=Kopete%20Webcam%20Support&comzone=show
That is kopate webcam support, but most of this code is from kopate so it should work for webKam too.

Agree, great idea !!!!
Do you plan to add a "video" tab or to keep it simple?
I like both way : simple is good, video is good too :D

Yes I plan to add video recording. But I also want webKam to be multiplatform so probably first I will work on phonon video capture and then it should be easy to add video support.

Not yet. I just work on it for few hours. I wanted to know if anybody is interested in this kind of app before I put some more work into it.

Great idea... :-) until now KDE was lacking decent webcam viewer so we were forced to use camorama or cheese.

There is only one problem. Webcam image loads very slowly comparing to camorama. In kopete it looks exactly the same. Also it displays very low framerate.

Although - you're already done great thing - you've started something. Keep up the good work. Good luck! :-)

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
