This is simple webcam application.

webKam requires:
QtRuby(KDE 4.2 or trunk)
GStramer Ruby bindings
Gstreamer plugins good
video4linux compatible webcam

*Brand new Browse tool-menu-button
*Photo directory created when needed - for real this time

*Photo directory created when needed
*Added Flash Effect
*Added shutter sound notification

Completely new code base. Now webKam is written in Ruby and it uses Qt/KDE for GUI and GStreamer as multimedia engine.

 video recording

when do you think this feature can be implemented?

so far i have got the app working one debian from the ubuntu deb package, and i can take pictures. i had to change the default settings because the picture was coming in too dark (this does not happen in kopete).

having a video record feature would make this app!

This could be useful in the System Settings preferences of KDE4, which will be great for testing webcams and such.

I've tested and works great.

Things i would add:

- Save settings
- Restore defaults (or restore defaults in the sliders)
- Support for bigger resolution (since I have an Acer Aspire 5520 laptop with webcam included which supports 640x480 resolution)

Which version of vide4linux use? 1 or 2?

Nice tool.

I like this app, great work..
I used the Ubuntu package on Kubuntu Intrepid.. Works great..

I went to googlecode and wanted to checkout svn.. but its empty.. so I am asking if this Project is still developing? Or is it on ice (frozen)?

Where can I checkout the latest version?

 FTP support?

I like this app, nice it is indeed. But still I wonder if you are going to add the ftp-feature. Most linux-webcam progs don't have one, I haven't seen one yet at least. :-/ Would be happy if webkam had it, I guess. :)

 Larger saved pics

Great software!
My biggest request is larger saved pictures. I have a 1.3 MP webcam. But even on a netbook 320z240 seem kinda small :-)
I noticed the kontrols looked a lot like the ones from kopete. Are you/they utilizing Solid or any of the pillars of KDE4?

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
