Neuromante did it again : a binary package is now available for Arch Linux. All archlinux users can add this source to their pacman.conf config file:

[neuro]
Server = http://www.bracuccia.net/arch/i686

Many thanks to neuromante for packaging skrooge, from the skrooge team !

With Ubuntu 9.04 now officially released, the skrooge team is delighted to announce that skrooge is now in ubuntu repositories !

Many thanks to Anthony Mercatante for bringing skrooge to ubuntu users. On a side note, we will stop delivering ubuntu packages in sourceforge. Ubuntu users are strongly encouraged to use their package manager to install skrooge

 Problem

by hcooh on: May 25 2009

Hello !
his software seems to be really good, unfortunately, I can't really test it as when I try to make a new document, I have an error (and clicking on "historique" gives me) :
[ERR-5]: La création du document a échoué
[ERR-5]: SKGDocument::migrate() a échoué. La migration de la base de données de la version à la version 1.4 a échoué
[ERR-5]: SKGDocument::migrate() a échoué. La migration de la base de données de la version à la version 0.6 a échoué
[ERR-10001]: CREATE VIEW v_refund AS SELECT *, (SELECT TOTAL(o.f_REALCURRENTAMOUNT) FROM v_operation_consolidated o WHERE o.r_refund_id=refund.id) AS f_CURRENTAMOUNT from refund:no such column: o.r_refund_id Impossible d'exécuter l'instruction. no such column: o.r_refund_id

The translation in English of this message is approximately :
[ERR-5]: Document creation failed
[ERR-5]: SKGDocument::migrate() failed. The transfer of the database to the version 1.4 failed.
[ERR-5]: SKGDocument::migrate() failed. The transfer of the database to the version 0.6 failed.
[ERR-10001]: CREATE VIEW v_refund AS SELECT *, (SELECT TOTAL(o.f_REALCURRENTAMOUNT) FROM v_operation_consolidated o WHERE o.r_refund_id=refund.id) AS f_CURRENTAMOUNT from refund:no such column: o.r_refund_id Impossible to execute the instruction. no such column: o.r_refund_id

Another precision, I have fedora 10 running KDE4.2.3 with qt 4.5.
Does anyone know where could this come from ?

looks like an sqlite issue. Do you have it installed ? If yes, which version ?
Also is skrooge installed from a fedora package, or did you compile it yourself ?

Yes sqlite is installed as well as sqlite-devel. The version sqlite-3.5.9-4.fc10 (i386).
I don't need qt3-sqlite, right ?
And I compiled skrooge myself as I couldn't find any package available for fedora.
Anything I can do ?

No you don't need the qt3-sqlite plugin, but you definitely need the qt4-sqlite one ! What's strange is that using the web interface for querying fedora package, I can't find neither the qt3 nor the qt4 one Oo. Or maybe its included in their qt build ?

Well,
I have the package named sqlite-3.5.9-4.fc10. It can be found at the url : http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/4/idpl/12190172/com/sqlite-3.5.9-4.fc10.i386.rpm.html

(and the qt3 package is named qt3-sqlite-3.3.8b-17.fc10)

 Solved: Problem

After several mail exchanges, we nailed down the problem : it was linked to the rather old sqlite version (3.5.9) available for Fedora 10. We updated skrooge to handle this version, it should work now with skrooge 0.2.9

Hi, when I try to compile 0.2.9 i'll get the following error:

Am I missing something? Got the dependencies from the gentoo ebuild

Hmm, I don't know.

I asked Stephane to have an eye on this, he may be able to help.

Just talked to Stephane, and we have no idea where this could come from... Please mail me (gdebure at yahoo dot com) we may be able to nail down the issue.

I will also try to hang out in IRC (#skrooge) on the evenings (GMT+1) if it suits you more.

Using GCC 4.1.2? "Quick" fix: switch to GCC 4.3.2 (remember to follow the gcc upgrading guide: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gcc-upgrading.xml) or patch the sources and remove the KDE_EXPORT macro on the given line.

 skrooge is freezing

Hey,
I love your application, it is really useful but i got a problem.

When i am adding new operations, skrooge is freezing. I can't do anything, i have too kill it so i am loosing all inserted data. I can say it appears in 1/3 added operations so it really preclude using skrooge.

In terminal nothing happens :

szyms@szyms:~$ skrooge
################################################
##STARTING SKROOGE
################################################
Calling appendChild() on a null node does nothing.
Killed

I will be pleased to get know how to solve this problem.

Can you do :
export SKGTRACE=1
in a konsole, then run skrooge from there ?

It should output a lot of things, so maybe redirect outputs into a text file.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
