Description:

This plasmoid is a controller and a visualizer of informations about the songs for amarok 2.0.
It is quite, let's say, advanced compared with the "Now Playing" plasmoid. I have Kirocker as a model, so it works well even on a thin panel.
Currently it shows basilar info about the song, the cover image, the rating and other minor things, but I plan to add some other Things in the future.
Anyway if you have some feature request, please tell me!

Hope you enjoy it!

 Album Art

by yuth on: Mar 14 2009

Score 50%

First of all I would like to thank you for the great plasmoid.

I am using WolfPlay on Ubuntu 9.04. WolfPlay does not update the album art for the albums that does have one. I noticed that this is due to the problem with the path used by WolfPlay. It uses */usr/share/apps/amarok/images/nocover.png* instead of */usr/share/kde4/apps/amarok/images/nocover.png*

What I suggest is make this path configurable while compiling the plugin so even if a distro use different path, the plugin would work with out altering the code

 request re: button to show

 by google01103 on: Mar 24 2009

If the Amaork window has been minimized then the show button just displays it in the task bar or not. Could the internal command be changed so if minimized it will unminimize the window so it is displayed on the desktop.

thanks,

Suse 11.1 x64, KDE 4.2, Opera 10.x weekly build

to show amarok playwolf calls its dbus method that is designed to do that. so it is an amarok bug rather than one of playwolf

Thanks for writing this plasmoid. I have just one problem. If I close it and then try to add it again, it crashes plasma every single time. I've uploaded a backtrace here: http://pastebin.com/f1bda0367

I'm on KDE 4.2.2.

 installation for newbs

by tameboy on: Apr 16 2009

I thought there used to be a 'how to install' option on this site. Can't see it for this plasmoid - am I missing something? I would really like to install this! (using KDE 4.2.1, amarok 2.02 on Fedora 10)

you're right, the 'how to' button disappeared.
anyway:
cd playwolf
mkdir build && cd build
cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=`kde4-config --prefix` ../
make
sudo (or su -c) make install

i'll add a INSTALL file in the next release

Hi many thanks for the reply. I got this far:

Any suggestions? As far as I can see I have the latest version of cmake installed from the fedora repository.

the problem is not cmake, but this:
"CMake Error at /usr/share/cmake/Modules/FindKDE4.cmake:84 (MESSAGE):
ERROR: cmake/modules FindKDE4Internal.cmake not found..."
you seem to don't have the kde headers installed. i never used fedora, but usually the package is called kdelibs-dev

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
