Description:

This plasmoid is a controller and a visualizer of informations about the songs for amarok 2.0.
It is quite, let's say, advanced compared with the "Now Playing" plasmoid. I have Kirocker as a model, so it works well even on a thin panel.
Currently it shows basilar info about the song, the cover image, the rating and other minor things, but I plan to add some other Things in the future.
Anyway if you have some feature request, please tell me!

Hope you enjoy it!

Changelog:

 Qt 4.5.1???

 by joth666 on: Apr 20 2009

Score 50%

Just wondering...has anyone had any success in getting this one to work in KDE 4.2.2. with Qt 4.5.1. (no, I didn't mean to use 4.5.1. I just didn't notice the update in suse's repo in time)?

I've recompiled it since, but the only thing I get is the progress-bar and the play/next etc buttons. I don't get the cover-image nor the text that says which song/artist.

well i use 0.7.2 compiled from sources, but i tried to install the one from kdemod and it works too.
could it be that i use kde 4.3 trunk and 4.2 has problems with qt 4.5.1?
i can't think of another cause.

I've now checked. The info I get from that command is indeed correct.

This is using playwolf 0.7.2. compiled from source so it's not a packaging error, on OpenSUSE 11.1, 64bit, using KDE 4.2.2 with Qt 4.5.1 + some patches added to make 4.2.2 more compatible with 4.5.1. which means the system thinks Qt is version 4.5.2. Amarok version is 2.1 beta (2.0.90).

According to kde4-config, the versions are

Qt: 4.5.2
KDE: 4.2.2 (KDE 4.2.2) "release 114"

i just thought of something that could be the problem, but still i can't understand why on my pc it doesn't happen.

anyway, try to replace wolflabel.cpp with the one on http://pastebin.com/m23c75ca0 and to recompile.

Same problem here, running Gentoo Linux x86_64. Used both KDE 4.2.2 and 4.2.3, QT 4.5.1

Installed Playwolf 0.7.2 via ebuild from the kde-testing overlay (compiled from source).

I also tried applying the fixed wolflabel.cpp, but it didn't help.

sorry for the long delay.
i was able to test it on another pc, and i got the problem, but still i don't understand why on my main pc it works.
anyway, if you comment the line 43 in wolflabel.cpp and recompile it you'll see the info again. but in that way the labels, when scrolling, will go over the other things that are on its left or right.
in my opinion this is a qt or plasma bug, even because i tried with the plasmoidviewer and using that playwolf worked out of the box.
i'll do some research however.

You may comment line 45 in file wolflabel.cpp and recompile.
Like this
/* setFlag(QGraphicsItem::ItemClipsChildrenToShape, true);
*/

It works for me

Hi -

Thanks for this plasmoid - very useful.

A comment & a request:

Comment: On the Information panel it should say "Information" not "Informations"

Request: The ability to tun off the "progress bar."

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
