Description:

This plasmoid is a controller and a visualizer of informations about the songs for amarok 2.0.
It is quite, let's say, advanced compared with the "Now Playing" plasmoid. I have Kirocker as a model, so it works well even on a thin panel.
Currently it shows basilar info about the song, the cover image, the rating and other minor things, but I plan to add some other Things in the future.
Anyway if you have some feature request, please tell me!

Hope you enjoy it!

Changelog:

 Not showing album art

by tameboy on: Jun 11 2009

Score 50%

Just noticed that the album art isn't showing anymore. Also there is information missing from the information dialogue which pops up when you click on playwolf.

I'm using amarok 2.1 on KDE 4.2.3 on Fedora 10.

Any ideas?

just realised that this issue is dealt with in another thread - and commenting out the line as suggested works a treat.

Thanks

Is there any plans to officially fix the issue related to Amarok 2.1 and Playwolf? In the mean time I will look for the above thread on how to fix this.

 How to COMPLETELY uninstall?

by gogalago on: Jun 14 2009

I am having problems with playwolf causing plasma to segfault on boot, which leaves me with no desktop or taskbar. (using Fedora 11x86_64 with KDE 4.2.3, playwolf 0.7.2 and amarok 2.1) I can fortunately get plasma back by deleting the two plasma-applet-playwolf files, but if I try to re-install, it comes back in the same condition (see below) and plasma crashes again when I reboot. Seems some settings are being stored somewhere else too, which I need to get rid of.

Basically what happened was that I'd just installed it, and was looking around through the functions... saw the "extended information" and when I clicked on it it resized smaller and I thought that it had different modes or something, so clicked it a few more times, but couldn't get it back to the original size. (think that was about where I had the first segfault) After that it was still working, but not showing album covers.... just a blank space on the taskbar where the cover would have been. Rebooted to see if the covers would come back, and then found that plasma itself wouldn't come back.

Have tried "plasmapkg -r playwolf" and "make uninstall" without success.

Would really like to get it running again, as it looked pretty good for the 10 minutes it was working hahaha.... and next time I won't fiddle with it so much.

 Many Flyouts

by bryancrockett on: Oct 25 2009

Hello Giulio,

Your plasmoid is great. I have just one problem with it, though. Every time I restart plasma (reboots, etc.), I get another pair of information flyouts (I don't know exactly what to call them) when I click on the plasmoid. For example, after one plasma-desktop restart, it goes from this:

http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/1999/31428173.png

to this:

http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/3163/49328625.png

If I remove the PlayWolf widget and try to add it again, plasma-desktop segfaults. Once I start it again, I can add PlayWolf back, and I only see a single pair of flyouts.

Hello - this plasmoid can crash plasma when you add it to the desktop. I told them - They tell me it's your fault ;)

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
