Description:

This plasmoid is a controller and a visualizer of informations about the songs for amarok 2.0.
It is quite, let's say, advanced compared with the "Now Playing" plasmoid. I have Kirocker as a model, so it works well even on a thin panel.
Currently it shows basilar info about the song, the cover image, the rating and other minor things, but I plan to add some other Things in the future.
Anyway if you have some feature request, please tell me!

Hope you enjoy it!

 song info

Now, when we have the extender, maybe it's a good idea to put an optopn to turn off song info right on the applet (when it's on the panel). So we'll get just the controll buttons, and after click the extender with song info, the volume slider... I personally will love this feature, cause i don't like to much 'things'. I like to keep my panel clean.

sorry for my bad english.

it seems like you don't have nepomuk, but cmake should alert you in the case.
check if you really have it, please

Playwolf 0.5 didn't require nepomuk, did it? Because all versions of playwolf have worked perfectly fine in my PC, this is the first time I've got a problem. However, I've just tried installing Nepomuk (I didn't know if I had it installed and it didn't appear in Yast when I searched for it so I assumed I didn't have it installed) and still the same error appears when I type "make" in the terminal. I will try to reinstall nepomuk and try to compile playwolf 0.6 again but I don't think that'll do the trick.

thanks.

starting from 0.6 it needs nepomuk because nepomuk provides KRatingPainter which i use to draw the stars.
since the compilation stops on KRatingPainter i thought about it.
if it isn't that i don't know what to think. i still can't fully understand how the linking works.
anyway if i find a solution i'll fastly tell you about.

after you've installed nepomuk try to remove the build directory and start the build process from scratch

I have the same problem. All files compile well but fail on linking. I have check the head file, kratingpainter.h, all functions which ld reported are listed in the class "KRatingPainter".
My OS is openSUSE 11.0, KDE 4.2.

either you and minatolf have opensuse 11, so i would think this is a packaging problem.

I think I find the reason. I insert "/usr/lib/libnepomuk.so" into the files link.txt and relink.txt, it can compile and install correctly.
That means cmake lost library libnepomuk.so as a parameter of linking, but I know nothing about cmake and the syntax of CMakeLists.txt. Would you fix it?
Thank you!

the problem is that this seems to happen in opensuse only.
in the cmakelists.txt it is written all that is needed in order to compile.
there must be something wrong with opensuse.
however, is the cmake output all clean or are there some warnings? could you post it here?

I finally find out the reason, after reading the output of cmake.
It said,
"--Could not find Soprano includes.
--Could not find Soprano library. "
So after I installed the package libsoprano-devel, cmake can find "/usr/lib/libnepomuk.so" now, and playwolf can be compiled and linked.
But I still doubt why cmake can be passed when it can't find some librarys and includes.

I was wondering... it would be nice if we could edit the Amarok button so we could start other commands too (I have to start amarok-nightly, otherwise the "old" Amarok 1.4 pops up).

 Cover

Hi,

I like this plasmoid very much.

Just one problem:

when I resize playwolf (I don't like it too much big), the cover isn't shown entirely: the position of the cover is wrong, so half image of the cover is hidden by meter bar.

There's a way to correct this annoying problem?

Thanks

ok, thanks

just one more info, for your work:

this imperfection seems very strange, because I've noticed that the problem desappears after a "plasma crash" (!!) on my system (kde 4.2.0).

waiting for 0.7

Best regards

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
