 UI glitches...

by CraigD on: Oct 29 2009

Perhaps its the versions I'm using (Qt 4.5.2, KDE 4.3.1, rekonq 0.2.91), but there are several glitches with the UI:

1. The location bar entry field is too tall. It looks ok with oxygen (but still bigger than other oxygen editable combos). But if you use a style such as skulpture, bespin, plastique, etc, then it looks way too tall - almost the full height of the toolbar.

2. The site icon on the left hand side of the tabs is clipped.

3. The 'new-tab' button overlaps with the base of the tab widget. Again, this is more noticeable in non-oxygen styles (but is still present with oxygen)

4. If I scroll a page (such as planetf1.com) with flash elements, then the flash parts seem to lag behind and are quite jittery when the page is scrolled.

 Feature request!

I'am missing a feature that is present in konqueror: the ability to access the first 10 tabs using a keyboard. Would be greate to have the ability to assign key combinations to access tabs in "Alt+1", "Alt+2", "Atl+3" etc way.
PS Thanks for the greate browser! )

This is wonderful! This new version looks great. Love the refinments and I'm excited about the future of this browser. It just... looks... good. You clearly have a vision for rekonq This is no longer just an Arora fork with better KDE integration. This becoming a credible, modern browser in it's own right.

Love it, love it, love it.

Exciting times!

 [Wish]"Passing" protocols...

by RGBkde on: Nov 6 2009

Score 50%

... to the right app.
I have some ftp sites in my bookmarks that I often use on konqueror. Rekonq cannot use them, which is ok for me (rekonq is a browser, not an "everything to anyone app" like konqueror). Problem is: when I click on the bookmark (or any link to a ftp site) rekonq gives an "Unknown error" instead of opening the site with a proper app (like konqueror).
Adding an option to such cases will be great.
Otherwise, great browser! Many thanks for your work!

you're right, sorry for this. Anyway rekonq will be able to browse ftp sites in 0.4. I'll take a look if there is a "partial" fix for this in 0.3

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
