 Print problems

by nigels on: Mar 31 2005

Score 50%

When I do a print preview, the embedded kghostview(?) gets upset about "no printers" and it is not possible to exit print preview mode.

This is with the FC3 RPM.

The exact message-

"There is no default printer. Start with --all to see all printers. [OK]"

Cheers,

Nigel

On second thoughts, I think it's a kghostview problem. Once I went into the KDE control center to configure a default printer, the dialog box went away -- but I still have a problem with kghostview hanging.

Hi,

I fixed this problem by configuring kghostview correct :

Settings->Configure kghostview

Selection "Ghostscript"

Interpreter : gs
Non-Antialiasing : -sDEVICE=x11
Antialiasing: -sDEVICE=x11 -dTextAlphaBits=4 -dGraphicsAlphaBits=2 -dMaxBitmap=10000000

The link is still broken but it does link to another page that lists all the versions including 9.3

 Subframes lost

by nomis on: Sep 20 2005

Score 50%

When you create a plot and then save the spreadsheet and plot the coordinates of the spreadsheet and plot subframes within the main window are not saved.

When you re-open the saved file the spreadsheet and plot are set side by side but the plot extends beyond the mainframe and is clipped.

I think it would be much better if you saved the coords of the subframes and restored them from the saved file.

Incidentally I really like this application. Also I mentioned the broken link to the SUSE 9.3 rpm - the link is still broken.

Best wishes, Nomis

Hi,

I fixed this problem in 1.5.1.pre2 by saving and restoring all window size and position in a project.

Hi,

LabPlot depends on the package ghostscript-library. It should work if it is installed.
I can make an update RPM that depends on this package if you want.

What Fedora Core version do you have?

Is there any way to use special characters in legend boxes? Sub/superscript will be very useful.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
