Very nice, I've actually been looking for something that would do just this. I have yet to try it, but I'll mention this before I forget. It hit me that right-clicking on a movie file, a "Convert movie..." action would be really good. Especially now that Actions are in a submenu in the file context menus and thus not cluttering up the overall look.

Also, it would seem you've got it in the wrong section, this isn't a screensaver ;)

Konverter had been initialy released on christmas, so not much features are done right now. But after my exams in february i'll do some major improvements.

 Build error.

 by mocnicom on: Mar 18 2004

With gentoo ebuild provided. Perhaps because I use kde 3.2? Anyway here is the error:

//////////////////////////////////

ACCESS DENIED mkdir: /usr/qt/3/etc/settings
QSettings::sync: failed to open '/root/.qt/qt_plugins_3.2rc.tmp' for writing

(repeated multiple times)

...

--------------------------- ACCESS VIOLATION SUMMARY ---------------------------
LOG FILE = "/tmp/sandbox-media-video_-_konverter-0.5-9062.log"

//////////////////////////////////

Same thing using version 0.4 or 0.5 . The log file generated by the error is filled with a repeated:

mkdir: /usr/qt/3/etc/settings

Any ideas?

With version 0.5 konverter is directly available at gentoo. Please try their ebuilds. This should work.

Very good app, could you just replace the logo with some nice AA fonts, or even better some kool image? Thanx, and keep up the good work.

 libGL.la missing :(

 by lebjor02 on: Mar 22 2004

When I try to compile Konverter (and most other KDE programs) I am told that /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.la is missing. I am running Mandrakelinux 10.0 with latest NVidia drivers.
I have tried to copy all libGL.*-files from /usr/lib/ to /usr/X11R6/lib/, and then the programs compile fine, but when I shut down X the fonts are totally distorted.

Any suggestions..?

Solution (thanks to KDevelop forum) its an Nvidia cockup:
nvidia comments on this:

This is a problem with the libGL.la generated by the nvidia-installer. Please edit /usr/lib/libGL.la, and replace the line:

# Generated by nvidia-installer: 1.0.5

with

# Generated by nvidia-installer: 1.0.5 (for use by libtool)

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
 Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
 I do not like some of the changes.
 KDE is taking the wrong way.
 I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
 I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
