 Colors

 by redmac5 on: Jul 27 2004

Score 50%

Looking very good. I especially like the colors you have used, because they are very soft and don't use as much saturation as is often the case with other opensource applications.

One thing though: The arrows pointing outwards; I've only been able to identify them after thinking about the shapes for several seconds. You should maybe try to find a better ratio of the baseside of the triangle compared to the maximum length of the arc that the triangle could occupy. IMO the best one is the arrow belonging to the top blue bar on the left side on the outermost circle.

Invoking session rollback and returning the computer to its

ok I can probably fix this. Thanks for the report.

-2 marks to SuSE for not putting the kde bin dir in root's path. This may be a security feature but I still award the negative marks!

Why?When I try to install it,everything went well until it 'prepare package',and it told me that I have no kdelibs?!What the problem is?I surely have KDE 3.1 installed on my computer, and when I check it,it is all right.

You apparently didn't notice that Filelight requires KDE 3.2. This is mentioned in numerous places and is also why the package would fail the check for KDE 3.2.

 error message

by AussieJohn on: Nov 13 2004

Score 50%

Hello. I had version 6.xx running aok on Mandrake10-OE and have done a urpmi to take it up to 10.1-OE and everything seems to be running fine in that aspect.

I have downloaded your new version and exactly followed your install instructions in detail. At the completion of the process I get the following error message as follows :-

checking for mcopidl... /usr/bin/mcopidl
checking for artsc-config... /usr/bin/artsc-config
checking for meinproc... /usr/bin/meinproc
checking for kconfig_compiler... /usr/bin/kconfig_compiler
checking for dcopidlng... /usr/bin/dcopidlng
checking for makekdewidgets... not found
configure: error: The important program makekdewidgets was not found!
Please check whether you installed KDE correctly.

[root@DETHERMY filelight-1.0-beta4]#

I have not been able to find what program provides this "makekdewidgets"
so maybe you can direct me.

What is strange is that upon checking my current install of filelight, I find that it now identifies itself as version 1.0-beta2 and seems to be working but I am not sure.

I look forward to hearing from you and thank you in advance.
Cheers. John

 Your KDE is broken

I have no idea what's wrong. But it's something fundamentally broken with your kde installation, I can tell you that much. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Try installing more kde-devel type packages.

 Not as root!

It would probably help, possibly fix your problem, if you didn't configure as root! Don't do everything as root! Many things won't work, as well as the fact that you'll probably break you system in the end if you do everything as root.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
