Changelog:

ATTENTION BIG CHANGES

The biggest change in this release is how you compile / execute the program. These changes have been made to end a number of bugs attributed to improper installation files used by the application.

So after get the source and unpack ... run in console:

qmake or qmake-qt4 2ManDVD.pro 2ManDVD.pro (on fedora)
make

and finally:

sudo make install

And I stress the make install (as root)

Then you can start the application from your main menu (kde & gnome tested)

 Problem with menu soundtrack

 by gaspare66 on: Aug 16 2009

Score 50%

Hi Stephan,
I have a big problem with menu soundtrack: when I listen it on Pc there is no problem but when I hear the DVD on to "DVD-player" the soundtrack is mute or it's with very big noise.
I try every type of file format and bitrate .... but nothing.
Any ideas?

it seems that some player doesn't like AC3 encoding. You can replace all ac3 string by a52 in render.cpp

If this is better i will change it for a next release.
Other persons make test we will see if it is better.

Thanks

Stéphane

I tried, but does not work!
The problem is also with media-player not only with DVD-Player .......
I don't think is a problem of codec.
For example the introduction video is ok the problem is only on menu soundtrack!

The problem it's ever present.
It's almost impossible to use software if the menu soundtrack doesn't work.
Why old realease of software don't have same problem?
Thanks for the help.

I observed that the codec of audio of file.vob is different:
Introduction codec is a52 or ac3 and I haven't problem also codec of normal vob files of DVD is so
The codec of menu soundtrack in ever mp3 or ogg like, and I have problem with this.
I modified file rendering.cpp with codec a52 ( I find 5 substitutions) but nothing.
Where I can change codec, in file rendering.cpp, for menu sondtrack?

for the last several releases the english language file is not found or functioning properly:
LOCALE : "en" "/usr/bin"
ERROR LOADING ENGLISH LANGUAGE

It seem that the package you use doesn't put the langage file in the correct place. Contact the packager

i have switched to a different repo with 2mandvd and the language file issue is not present.

there are still some parts of interface that are not translated though...

The easiest way is to download the source and compile it.

If you have qt4 developpement package installed :

qmake
make

I think that the translation has to be in the directory in which 2ManDVD executable is located.

So if your distribution puts 2ManDVD executable in /usr/bin, you need to put 2mandvd_en.qm in there too.

Unfortunatelly its not true, language files are in the same folder as executable, and i still get

2ManDVD
LOCALE : "pl" "/opt/2ManDVD"
ERROR LOADING ENGLISH LANGUAGE

on earlier version 0.9.1 it was working but not in 0.9.6

it would be easier to have ability switching language manually, please add this feature in future version

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
