OT: Stolen SCO code from 1973

By ExaByte
Published: Aug 20 2003

Just don't care this is not KDE-related and enjoy yourself!

On his homepage Bruce Perens (a Linux developer and one of the founders of the Open Source initiative) writes that the code which claims SCO to be their intellectual property hast already been published in 1973.

He has found out that the parts of code SCO showed "encrypted" at their forum where only set in Greek letters.

Furthermore, he has found out that this code had been written in 1973 for the first UNIX version by AT&T. This code became an exaple in a book published in 1977. The author gave up his copyright and allowed to publish and use this book without limits in 1978.

Hi ExaByte,

the people have voted not to see SCO news here. That's why I removed all news I posted regarding SCO.

Nobody has definitely voted that no SCO news should be published here.
At least I have not found any vote!

Additionally: this is the most important SCO news yet. And it's not SCO's claims but the first _facts_!

Exabyte, it's also a fact that you're posting this at an _art_ related website and not some site like pclinuxonline or osnews, please keep that in mind.

If I want to read about SCO, I'll visit one of the above mentioned sites or just zdnet, but definitely not this site.

btw. Since yesterday, I've already read this information for more than 10 times, that's enough for me.

Yes, nobody has voted not to show SCO news. But clearly the majority has voted to have only KDE related news here.

And SCO has nothing to do with KDE. KDE may run on Linux (but it also runs on other platforms), but just a minority voted to see Linux news here.

My opinion is, that we have to respect the opinion of the KDE-Look.org visitors.

BTW: Could it be possible that nobody voted not to post SCO related news, since this was not an option in that poll? ;-)

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
