In the mirrors Conectiva, Debian, FreeBSD, Gentoo, RedHat and SuSE are listed. Slackware is also there under contrib.

Also, for SuSE, only 8.2 and 9.0 rpms seem to be available, not 7.1.

I am using 3.2 beta since 3 or 4 Weeks and it was very nice.
I am updating my SuSE with Synaptic and apt4rpm, the new rpms 3.2.0-2 and -5 are available there and the update works very fine.

Thx to the KDE Team and the apt4rpm Team, you have done a very Good Job.

Seraphyn

 relocation error

by cirrusgr on: Feb 3 2004

Just downloaded and installed kde 3.2 debs on my debian woody box.
When i try and start kde i get the following error:
kdeinit: relocation error: /usr/lib/libqt-mt.so.3: undefined symbol: FT_Seek_Stream
and it just freezes loading.
Anyone any idea what could be going wrong?

OK apparently it was the version of libfreetype6 i was using. I've backported the testing package into my woody, and that caused the relocation error. Bah have to backport around 20-30 packages now that depended on my backported libfreetype6 package.
Anyway something else know.
Most things run smooth and cpu usage is ok, but after a while (or when i do something specific don't know yet) the cpu usage reaches maximum levels. Top says:
30459 root 14 -10 276m 20m 4676 S 57.6 4.1 4:49.17 XFree86
30516 cirrus 14 0 19688 19m 17m R 22.2 3.8 1:39.28 kdeinit
And generally the computer feels very slow.
I'm using XFree86 Version 4.2.1.1
How is it for you guys. What version of XFree are you using?
Cheers,
Cirrus

 kde 3.2 on slack 9.1

hi all,
i've tried the "new baby" on slack 9.1 and it's GREAT...at this moment i get no errors and/or crashes...but i'd like to ask you if it's possible to not overwrite kde-3.1, and have both kde (3.1 and 3.2), to choose between them.
pardon for my bad english
tanks :)

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
