...music at all turned to be a mess of unified crap (sorry), covers and pseudo music as techno (i.e. loud, monotone in matters of dynamics and tempi - and good to prevent any conversation so none of the disco kiddies notices there's no good reason to be in a disco and spend your money on expensive drinks, so it's even minor to elevator music or "Hansi Hinterseher"...) well, this is probably what you get if you try to industrialize art - sorry movie scores SOMETIMES make an exception, but even they MOSTLY reuse classical tunes personally i'd say music started to die when "the monkies" didn't sing themselves and finished process around 1991 ("Queen" was one of the latest real artist bands - though they made a lot of money ;) nowerdays it's not music, but just tonal commerce - no artist doesn't have to say anything (and that does not mean: "say sth. sad" - "music" became just too exchangable) most promising was imho "mosh" from eminem (though i really don't like him at all) - as long as this really wasn't just designed for the timed market but a real statement --- now flame me ;) - i'm allways open to suggestions and still able to learn

Personally, the results of the poll are interesting. It would be interesting to see how culture is affected by this question.

I don't think this poll says most linux users are heavy metal fans - I think it says many of the KDE-Look.org users are heavy metal fans.

The fact heavy metal is highest on the list could very well be a combination of culture and age, but I don't think it has anything to do with linux or KDE.

Personally, most of the people I know (in my rural US home town) that are 'nix fans are rock fans, not heavy metal fans.

Old-school (80's) rap and Miami bass are pretty cool - mostly because thats what I grew up on. Electronica or Classical with no lyrics (distracting) is great background music while I'm programming and need to concentrate. Oldies are great for long car rides because unlike other 'genres', just about everybody knows the lyrics and can sing along. I'm impressed by acapella groups just because those guys can really sing, unlike a lot of *AA artists. Classic rock, is cool because these are the pioneers - it wasn't cliche back then. I like music from just about any genre that has political (especially 'politically incorrect') themes, instead of the usual boring "I love you" drivel. Frankly, I consider Heavy Metal to be in about the same category as 'Professional' Wrestling. It just seems forced and too theatrical to me - same goes for modern Hip-hop.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
