The idea behind this poll was the entire KDE box, including what is running below it.

There simply not enough room in the question field for enumerating all OS on which KDE runs.

In other words, problems here are not necessarily the fault of KDE (even though the pundits will claim otherwise).

 Everything

You all know as well, that most of hardware in this list doesn't depend on KDE - it depends on kernel or common Linux drivers.
I voted for "Printer", because I'm disappointed with printinh in Linux. No, the CUPS is good, but it is obviously WORSE THAN FIRMWARE DRIVERS from HP, Epson, Canon...
I'm sure, as soon as hardware vendors will support Linux as they do with Win32 and Mac OS, the desktop Linux will conquer the world.

 Web cam

I'm waiting for the next generation Kopete release in KDE 3.5 and I hope that this greeat app will give me full support to my QC-messenger cam (or better, that it's able to use the driver well).
I think also that is a great thing to plane a set of apps dedicated to the cam world, for example a GUI (or replacement) for xawtv in KDE, i want to grub, edit and store my cam-video guys!:)
mmm maybe also a vlc-like (with streaming capability) app it's not a bad idea...
whot do you think about?:)

Since the PWC driver is not longer developed and part of the kernel, which Webcams are working with a current kernel?

Yes it is developed, and I think it is in the kernel. The old pwc mantainer left the project but it has been continued.

Catch me if you can style for this (driver) kind of HW, there is a complete list of cam driver for linux (http://www.qbik.ch/usb/devices/search_res.php?pattern=webcam) but it is not specified the version of kernel for this driver...
When I have decided to buy a cam, I have chose a quickcam that seems to be supported well.

 Scanner!

by meneerdik on: Oct 11 2005

I voted "Scanner", because there is no good, intuitive, well maintained scanner application for Linux.

Yes, XSane is good and has quite a bit of features, but it is not easy to use.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
