 Tube...

it's as old just as me approximately 20+ years. It's really old. I hate television and would throw away this piece of technology but my mom is enjoying some random programs being broadcast on this odd network. If there would ever be a need for me to watch TV I'd rather get a TV-card for a computer.

No tube for TV, no more =)

Exactly, I was going to ask about the no tv option, but you already got it. It's funny, I work in the cable industry, but don't watch it.

I splurged on a 60" TV a little over a year ago, and in all that time, I've used it as a computer monitor more than anything else. I only wish I'd done a bit more research before picking one out, as the best resolution I seem to be able to get on this one is 1280x1024, even though it's capable of 1920x1080 for everything but the computer. :-\

You should use a DVI-to-HDMI cable instead of D-SUB cable. That way, you'll get FullHD (you'll need a DVI-capable VGA card to do that, of course). I personally use a 40'' FullHD LCD TV connected via HDMI, and FullHD resolution (1920x1080) works just great.

Makez me think of the Pink Floyd zong about
Quote:
15 channelz of zhit on the TV to chooze from...

Only these dayz, there are 115 channelz. And ztill nothing fit to watch.
Az long az my monitor continuez to work, I won't need the tube to keep me copmpany.

people will think I'm insane. I do not own a TV. I watch DVD movies projected onto a screen with a DLP projector and subscribe to Entertainment Weekly so I have something to talk to my friends about.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
