 asplinux dead

asplinux is a long dead russian distro.

for those who doesnt know: debian and simplymepis numbers should be added, because simplymepis is debian with customized install (you can safely upgrade it from std deb repos)

 Archlinux ?

I have been using archlinux for 4 years now. It is intended to be lightweight and simple distro for advanced users that want to be always on the bleeding edge for new packages (and new bugs).
This distro has increasingly become more and more popular and I now ear about it in quite many places on the internet (even kde.org).
I am surprised not to see it here.

I am also an Arch Linux user and it is definitely my favourite Linux distribution. It is not only light-weight and easy to configure (not in terms of newbie-easy), but it also has the most awesome package management system called Pacman.

Yes, why ArchLinux isn't here? ArchLinux is one of the few distros that add something new to the Linux World, not some copy of other distros with some more packages on it (like Ubuntu).

We have to valorize this distros instead of valorizing clone distros owned by some millionaire.

I've only been back with Linux for a few months now and have tried every distro out there. One can safely assume I am still at newbie level. However, I have settled on Arch Linux for just the reasons you described. I think people avoid Arch b/c they think it's complicated to set up and maintain but I was pleasantly shocked to see the quality of support and stepxstep information on both the wiki and the forums. More complete and helpful than any other distro I've tried. I would go so far as to say after a newbie has gotten their feet wet with a live cd type of full install, they should quickly move on to Arch. If you want to know how to TRULY maintain your system and learn about the nuts and bolts of what's going on in the background, Arch is just fantastic in all respects. I've never been more pleased....and I can't even describe how much I love pacman.

vote ron paul. seriously.

It would be interesting to see the same poll at Gnome-look.

By the way, I'm a Slacker.

Exactly what i was thinking, i really want to know what gnome users use. Its interesting to see though, debian based distros seem to have the lead, my guess is that there would be a lot more users for ubuntu on gnome-look.

I use debian sid :D

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
