 Usable But...

Being I have a rather odd xinerama setup and kwin has regressed in that area kde4 atm is almost unusable for me.
The plasma's panel is not very configurable yet tho I've only ever seen the left half of it.
Wasn't it a feature of plasma that you could drag applets to and from the panels? I have no interest with applets on my desktop. You might even say in kde3 if I didn't change my desktop ever so often I wouldn't even run kdesktop.

 Usable!

This one is better!
-Application are great and mostly work fine.
-Artwork is nice and almost complete.
-Oxygen is now my favorite style (but i don't like the windeco).
-The panel is missing a lot of configuration, but if i dont change things in it, it work.
-The desktop work fine, icon work, but have to be oversize to see the text.
-Dolphin is just great, konqueror too when page load corectly, but i am missing the searchbox.
-Kwin4 is unusable with compositing, but without, it work fine.
-The painting speed is good only if compositing is disable, that ****...
-The whole speed is a lot better than before! (in beta)
-Kickoff is the menu that i use since it exist, so i like it, lancelot also look promising.

I don't think 4.0 will be ready for general consumption. The libraries and core will be rock solid, but all the stuff around them still need a lot of work. It needs a boat-load of "polishing". I suspect most people won't give up on KDE 3 until KDE 4.1.

p.s. I am actively contributing, so I'm doing more than just complaining.

well, you are right, 4.0 won´t be perfect. But it´ll hopefully be basically usable, and that´ll be enough to show off how great the new stuff is in there. So ppl will join us and help make it better ;-)

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
