I think anything that the KDE project has released in the last two months has been incredibly remarkable. They've made such huge strides in the world of the open desktop, I can't wait to see where they'll be in five months time, but I'm well prepared to wait five years. simply amazing.

 Waiting on KWin

I'm desparately waiting for either A) an update to the NVidia driver to fix the terrible NVidia slowness, or B) an update to KWin to fix the terrible KWin slowness. (Not sure where the slowness problem lies.) I've got an nVidia GeForce 7300, but I get only about 3 frames for the minimize effect! Not smooth at all. (Makes me sad, 'cause roommate has a Mac that does effects very prettily.) As soon as KWin becomes snappy again, I think I'll switch to the KDE4 desktop. For now, I just the KDE4 applications, which are freaking amazing.

 kde 4

Bugs are not the reason that I'm not using KDE 4. I don't like the way Desktop icons are projected. They are widgets without any right mouse actions. And no way to delete the file. Normaly i put everything that I'm using on the desktop and delete it later or move it to the right location. The same if I download something I always drop it on my desktop and delete it later. now I can't do that, when i delete a deskop icon (widget) I only delete the widget not the file. so that sucks, now I have to open /home/my_beatiful_name:)/Desktop to edit/delete my desktop items. I really want my old desktop icon behavior back... With or without widgets I don't care. Do anyone know if this desktop icon behavior will be altered?

beside of the icon behavior The KDE 4 desktop will be a beatiful desktop but at the moment it is not yet my desktop of choice, that is for now KDE 3.5.9

My english is bad... sorry ;)

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
