Agreed, so I voted Debian instead, as sidux is effectively Debian sid.

Cheers.

As long as 'Other Distribution' is just 4% it does not make sense to split this up for every single unmentioned distribution. I would rather remove other distributions from the list that got less than 2%.

Sabayon is Gentoo, isn't it?

Not exactly. Sabayon is based on Gentoo. So that's not the same.
Just like Ubuntu and Debian. Ubuntu is based on Debian, but not the same.

I voted for Kubuntu by the way! :)

 Favorite or in use?

by Gerald on: Aug 12 2010

Hmpf. Currently I use Kubuntu, but would like to switch to Arch, or whatever.

Right now I can't switch because I really need my box every single day for productive use. No time for reinstalling the OS. Might find time next month, though.

Perfect would be: A Linux distribution with rolling release, KDE4, and binary packages. Suggestions anyone? :-)

UI tools for system administration would be nice, but not necessary, BTW...

PCLinuxOS 2010.7 is a rolling release - once installed thats it. Just update regularly and you'll have the most upto-date apps.

No more installs every 6 months etc.

Yeah, and as PCLinuxOS use Mandriva Control Center from Mandriva Linux, people get great GUI tools as well. Rolling Release + MCC = Rocks.

Those who want to stay on 6 months release Mandriva is best choise for desktops.
And those who wants just rolling release, Arch Linux is then best choise.

Well, Arch certainly meets the criteria. Set aside a day and do it :)

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
