 Missing Options:

- Every second update.
- Depends on the changelog.

I always look in the changelog before updating.

But the change log is often incomplete, also the 3.1.2->3.1.3 one even while it's longer than others before.

Nevertheless a "sometimes" or the like option is missing.
My distro delivered KDE 3.0.3 for example. I installed 3.1.2, but I won't install 3.1.3 until I face any problems that bother me.

... but since kde 3.1.1 delivered with SuSE 8.2 feels pretty stable, and I've heard people complain about 3.1.2 and 3.1.3 I think I'll keep it, despite the high number of bug fixes.

Anyway I'd like to hear about SuSE 8.2 users experience with the latest kde upgrades.

3.1.3 is a bugfix release. It does not (or should not) be any less stable than any other 3.1.x release. Actually, it is supposed to be more stable, since it have many bug-corrections.

I don't know what kind of unstability you're reffering to, but I may assume it is caused by the combination KDE 3.1 and Qt 3.2. Even though, they're only minor issues, and are being worked on for a "Qt 3.2 compatible" KDE 3.1.4.

You should also note that 3.1.3 corrects a security bug related to http authentication. It is not good to have known security bugs open, is it?
And if you're running 3.1.1, it features yet another security bug, so you'd better upgrade to, at least, 3.1.1a.

If you have any problems after your upgrade, you should fill a bug report for it in bugs.kde.org and/or contact your distibutor in order to verify if there is a packaging bug.

I would go for KDE 3.1.3, but the RPM packages don't install properly with my SuSE 8.1. I'm working on installing with source code, and might just start working with CVS.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
