AFAIK KMerlin is a MSN chat client and not an Instant Messenger.

 I use gaim.

I have tried kopete many times and I just couldn't get used to holding shift or ctrl (or whatever it was) while hitting enter to send an im. I want to just be able to hit enter to send an im. I tried to look for a setting to change this but couldn't. I would love to use a kde im client. Have I overlooked this setting somewhere? Thanks.

Yup, you open a chat window to someone (they don't need to be online), then find your way to the Shortcuts settings thing, where you change the CTRL+Enter to just be Enter (like any other KDE program), and there you go :) You can still put carriage returns in messages, just click CTRL+Enter now :)

Uhm... right, I have no idea what's going on here, but my message was deleted somehow... But again: I had the problem myself and you can fix it by opening an IM window, and use the Setup shortcuts dialog to change the Send message command from CTRL+Enter to just Enter...

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
