 Konx

Well, I vote for Konx.

But since it's my own style this vote is not fair ;)

Well apart from that of course I like my own style best, I think dotNET, asteroids and reinhardt are the sexiest styles out there because I really like clean and minimal styles.

Not only, that they're faster but in my opinion they also look best.

well, I didnt vote for it cuz its very boring, imho. I prefer baghira. Or thinKeramik. Or active Hearts. If I want a clean look, I'd prefer plastik.

Well, you know... I don't understand why so few people vote for QtCurve. Especially since you can remove the menu borders.

I love having the same style on all applications and the GtkQT engine crashes my Eclipse with SWT-GTK.

My preferred widget style is the Mandrake Galaxy Widget. It is clean and elegant enough for everyday use IMHO.

 Plastik all the way!

by meldroc on: Jun 10 2004

I love Plastik, specifically because it doesn't have too much eye candy. It does have some - you can see gradients & such, but it is very subtle. It's primarily a functional theme, with just enough eye candy to guide the eye and distinguish it from those other OSes.

Keramik is far too gaudy. ThinKeramik does a good thing - toning down Keramik, but still too flashy. Baghira's OK, but it still has too much eye candy, and if I wanted that look, I would have bought a Mac.

One gripe I do have about Plastik - on window titles, the buttons need more contrast. Just a little more, so the buttons are clearly visible, maybe when using dark colors on the titlebar, the buttons should be a light color. Don't overdo it - we don't want it looking like Windows XP's Playskool theme. I would also like it to have a colored stripe on the active tab in the tab bar, like in ThinKeramik.

And for all themes, the close button in the tilebar should be on the left, not next the maximize & minimize buttons, to avoid disastrous misclicks. I set it up this way on my box, but it should be this way by default.

Well. I voted for Plastik, because it is really good looking and enought minimalistic to fit my needs. Of course it is some kindof clone of winXP panel, but it doesn't matter. Since I am making my own theme.

.Net is also britty good, but looks ugly with my color theme. Alloy would be my next choise then. It's also good looking.

 Widgets vs. WinDeco

by Xanadu on: Jun 12 2004

Plastik Widgets all teh way, but teh WinDeco is beyond ugly. It's FAR too large. I use ThinKeramik with the large small title bubble on. That is a lovely combination, IMHO.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
