 nice

It's a very nice version, my initial response was a distinct "WOW this is so nice" ... it isn't all KDE though, as i just installed slack10 and that detects my laptops gfx card correctly so suddenly a lot of things work (such as transparencies).

Never the less, a very nice release, and also a very streamlined interface (by comparison) still not all it could be but getting there.

with kind regards

In general it is a great release. But I have one big problem with it. KOrganizer crashes right when I start it. It looks like it is heaving a problem reading holidays or something.

OK. It looks like I am not alone. This is the bug I have:

I hope they fix this soon.

 Back to KDE 3.2.3

by Yaba on: Aug 24 2004

Score 50%

Although KDE 3.2.3 contains a lot of features if've requested in the past (kdialog --passivepopup and the auto bookmarker plugin for kwrite) and other very nice gadgets, I'm back to 3.2.3 again. It's not just the crashes that appear more often than in 3.2.3. Showstopper was that the Exchange plugin in KOrganizer is no longer able to download appointments (http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87837).

So I hope that 3.3.1 comes out soon and fixes this.

 KDE 3.3

Appart from the general concensus of the poll, I've just switched back to 3.2.3. I've had a few stability issues, a couple things woudn't build correctly. Also, for some odd reason, kconfigure never made it to the menu(it got built, I just had to manualy add it). Not an overall stunning releases, though it's not a horrible one. Ah well, maybe I'll try again later.

 my vote

I voted "Some grave bugs/Not stable enough", not because I want to be critical, but because ever since I upgraded, my Konqueror, Quanta, and kicker crash all the time. It really feels like they may have jumped the gun a bit just to make their target release date. I really like KDE. I have much faith in the team working on these issues. I hope they will be resolved soon.

 For you with problem

A tips for you with unstable or slow KDE:s. Move your ~/.kde and ~/.kderc out of the way and start with brand new settings, this helped me reduce X:s cpu usage from ~60% to ~2%.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
